Other places you can find my work:

A is for Apron: published by Lark Books. An apron design of mine is published in this charming book full of apron projects. Working with the Lark Books editors was a joy and the project was exciting.  My mother thought I should have fought the editors harder on all points but that’s because she doesn’t understand team projects the way I do.

Guest Post at Whip Up: Come read my cool tutorial for making Surprise Bath Bombs for kids.

Stitch and Boots This is my urban homesteading site where I write recipes, sewing tutorials, information on keeping chickens, and all things homesteading for people who don’t have a farm.

Better Than Bullets is my personal online journal where I write about the things inspiring both ridicule and admiration (sometimes simultaneously) in my daily life.  Come to hear stories from the writer’s desk and receive unsolicited advice on absolutely everything.

I love your work, I suffer from PTSD, nightmares, anxiety
and MDD, insomnia…….I served two tours with the Army 2007-2014
………..do I offend you, Mrs WIliiamson?

Why would you have offended me by sharing that? Were you trying to? Mostly I’m sorry that you have nightmares and suffer from PTSD because I know how hard those are to live with. (Don’t know what MDD is)

I am notoriously anti-war and anti-military but I am rarely against soldiers who’ve served and fought who have good hearts and open minds.

I think I’ve found the right person….Several years ago I put up 20+ quarts of pears using a recipe on Stitch and Boots for pears in a light syrup with vanilla beans and, I believe, cinnamon. Every year since then we’ve lost all our pears to a badly-timed storm knocking off the flowers or immature fruit. Finally! We have a bountiful crop, but your recipe is no longer posted. Unfortunately I had bookmarked it, but not made a hard copy. Would you mind sharing it again or emailing it to me?
    Thank you in advance

Hi! I’m the right person and Stitch and Boots was still there as recently as last week. I don’t post new things there so I don’t check on it often but you have alerted me to the disappearance of my entire website! That was the only place I kept that recipe so I don’t have it to copy down for you but I do know that if you follow the general instructions for canning pears with a light sugar syrup that’s what I based the recipe on. So then take a vanilla bean and slice it lengthwise to expose the seeds and cut it into 1″ pieces and add to your sugar syrup. In every jar you add one piece of the vanilla bean and a couple of cloves – that’s it. Now, my husband is looking into what’s going on with the site and so we should have it back up soon. I’m so glad you liked that recipe and that you have plenty of pears this year! I haven’t made these in a long time and was just thinking it was time to do them again.
